What’s the difference between a sponsor and a partner I ask myself? It doesn’t really matter does it but, in my parlance and only with regard to raising funds to build the Emily Collins School in Uganda, I understand it to be this….
A sponsor is someone, a person or a company who donates money, goods or services at no cost to me for the furtherance of building the school. Whereas a partner is a person or a company who may or may not be able to do all of those things but also takes an active role in trying to raise funds from their own contacts or who uses their brand or position to promote what we are doing to build the school.
Does that make sense? I hope so…. So it is with great pleasure that I include a link to an article written by Emma, a dear friend of mine, to publicise and, indeed, promote what we are doing. Emma Charlton works for Heritage Fine Foods and this is her article, please read it, but beware…she is skillful writer it made me tearful!
I hope it encourages the ‘givers’ amongst us to support us and stimulates more sponsors and or partners to step forward.
